Wild Dog pups are growing up

After a difficult three months, the wild dogs pups are finally old enough to keep up with the adults on the hunt. For the first three months the pups were confined to the den area and needed to be brought food. Here they had to endure several raids from lions and leopards looking to kill them. Several pups were lost and one adult female actually died defending the den. Seven pups have made it thus far and now they will travel with the adults, sharing the hunt and their highly frenetic lifestyle. The youngsters will be watching the adults and learning how to hunt. For the moment, the pack will take them to a point and then leave them with one adult while they move off further looking for prey. It is quite exciting watching them as they learn and we can’t wait to see how they grow up further.
