Save the Elephants Day: A Reminder of the Majestic Creatures seen on a regular basis here at KwaMbili Safari Lodge
As the world celebrates Save the Elephants Day on April 16, 2023, we at KwaMbili Safari Lodge in the Thornybush Game Reserve take a moment to reflect on the importance of these majestic creatures. Elephants are one of the most iconic and recognizable animals on the planet, but they are also among the most vulnerable. At our lodge, we are committed to protecting and preserving these magnificent creatures for generations to come.
The African elephant is the largest land animal on Earth and a critical part of the African ecosystem. Unfortunately, they face a number of threats, including habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict. In recent years, the elephant population has declined significantly, and it is estimated that only 415,000 African elephants remain in the wild. It is up to all of us to help protect these amazing creatures before it’s too late.
At KwaMibli Safari Lodge, we are proud to be part of the effort to save the elephants. Our lodge is situated in the heart of the Thornybush Game Reserve, an area known for its high density of elephants. We offer guided safaris where guests can observe these magnificent animals in their natural habitat while also learning about their behaviour, social structures, and conservation efforts.
Save the Elephants Day is a reminder of the importance of protecting these amazing creatures. It is a day to celebrate the beauty and wonder of elephants and to raise awareness of the threats they face. At KwaMbili Safari Lodge, we encourage everyone to join us in our efforts to protect these magnificent animals. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that elephants continue to roam the African savannah for generations to come.
