Your Safari Day

The day begins early with coffee or tea at around sunrise.  The next three hours will be spent tracking and locating game, during which time there will be a stop to stretch legs and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. On returning to the lodge, there will be time to freshen up before a sumptuous breakfast is served.

After breakfast there will be opportunity to relax at the swimming pool or at the hide – or even have a sleep. Most guests take their showers during this often hot time of the day. Because of the late breakfast , lunch is served at about 14h00.

Thereafter it will be time to get ready for the afternoon game drive, which departs at about 3.30 pm in winter and 4.00 pm in summer. Around sunset, there will be a stop to stretch legs and enjoy a ‘sundowner’, a great safari tradition. After sunset, the tracker will use a spotlight to locate nocturnal wildlife.

After returning to the lodge, guests are escorted to their accommodation for a chance to freshen up for dinner. Dinner is served in the lapa or in the boma outside under the stars. After dinner guests can relax around the campfire, listening to the sounds of the bush, or congregate at the bar – but not for too long. Guests generally like to retire after dinner to enable a good night’s rest and be refreshed before the next early morning start.
