Spotted Bush Snake

The spotted bush snake is quite a common resident here at KwaMbili. We often see these little snakes around camp, especially during this time of year when there is an abundance of frogs and toads here. This is a time of feast for them after the winter period when they are less active and don’t get as much food. The down-side of being around camp is that these snakes sometimes get caught in our air-conditioners when they try to escape the extreme heat – and then we have to rescue them. Luckily their venom is not dangerous to humans and they are safe to handle – as long as you are sure it is actually a spotted bush snake!
