This week has been another great one here at KwaMbili. There have been leopards around all over the place with some exceptional sightings. But the highlight of the week must certainly be our Northern lion pride. The pride leader has been mating again so hopefully we will be seeing some new additions to the lion family in the coming months. I cannot wait to see how many more little fur balls are going to join the Thornybush lions. We had a fantastic sighting of the lions mating at a dam, while on the other side of the dam two massive buffalo bulls just lay and watched them. The buffalo know they are perfectly safe when the lions are doing their business! We also got a sense of the power of the male lion right next to the vehicle – it really is incredible how loud his roar is and how it actually shakes the vehicle. As we always say “just another exciting week in our wild office.”
