Fairly recently a new male leopard moved into Thornybush and we were lucky enough to see him quite well. He is originally from the Sabi Sand area and has made his way right up here. At the moment he controls only a very small area because Twinspot’s son Ntsako is still the dominant male. If these two do meet there will be a fight, so this new male is still treading lightly. Hopefully he will slowly increase the size of his territory and thrive in the area – although he has already had a bit of a fight with a female and she gave him a scar to remember his place. He is still young but he will get bigger and stronger and in a few years he will have more experience. He still has a long road ahead of him, so it will be interesting to see what happens !
